Mountain Valley District 

The Mountain Valley District (MVD) serves Gallatin, Madison, Park and Sweet Grass counties. With an average of 600 youth and 350 adult volunteers, our goal is make Scouting available to all youth in our area. 

MVD has 9Cub Scout Packs, 10 Scout BSA Troops, and 1 Venture Crew. Who Can Join?

Boys and girls are welcome in BSA Scout Programs. Cub Scouts is for Kindergarden - 5th Grade. Scouts BSA is for youth 11-17, and we have both Boy and Girl Scout BSA Units. Venture Scouts and Explorers offer higher adventures and opportunities for those 14 - 20. There is a unit for every youth interested in fun, the outdoors, leadership, challenge, friendships, and adventure.

Summer Scout Egg Drop

Thursday, August 4th the Egg Drop is happening once again at the Dinosaur Park! Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA are welcome to test their gravity defying engineering skills. More information is on the Egg Drop webpage. Remember, this is definitely a bring-a-friend type of activity!

Cub Scout Program Exciting Changes!

The Montana Council has been approved the Family Den Pilot Program. Beginning with the 2022-23 program year pilot packs may form Lion (Kindergarten), Tiger (1st Grade), Wolf (2nd Grade), Bear (3rd Grade), and Webelos (4th Grade Only) dens with boys and girls in them. Arrow of Light (5th Grade) are to remain in single-gender dens to prepare them for Scouts BSA (this is a requirement and not optional). Multi-rank dens such as a den of Wolves (2nd graders) and Bears (3rd graders) working on their respective badges of rank may also be formed with girls and boys. There will be a special position code used to identify the family packs participating in the Family Den Pilot.  Attached is the Pack Memorandum of Understanding that participating packs will need to complete The Montana Council has been approved the Family Den Pilot Program.
