Invest in Character and Leadership - It Matters

The mission of BSA is to help every youth develop character, become a good citizen, and be personal fit in mind and body.  Scouting isn’t just for those who can afford the cost – which is $250 per youth to maintain the camp, training, administration, support, and insurance structure that delivers the Scouting program.

Our mission from Jan 1 – April 30 is to raise $250 per scout in MVD. Popcorn sales (2015) are included in this figure, and the rest of the fund raising happens by outreach to families and the community here in the Gallatin Valley. The target amount of direct donations for MVD is $65,000.
ICL Unit Campaign - $250 per Scout (Including Popcorn)
Every unit holds a presentation during the campaign to give families the opportunity to support Scouting financially. Families are encouraged to also reach out to their network of relations, friends, and business contacts. Units are awarded incentives based on the per scout money raised. The incentives are listed below. You can see it is WORTHWHILE to your Unit to make incentive levels as it will save money on camps, patches, and supplies.
Individual Appreciation Patch
Every year, those who serve as presenters or contribute certain amounts are awarded a patch. The patch this year is a fabulous Moose. Here are the award levels:
Blue is the presenter patch - anyone that does a presentation in MVD.
  • Red is for $100 donors
  • Bronze is for $250-$499
  • Gold is for $500 - $749
  • Silver is for $750 and above
Why wait? Donate now!

This is a secure, easy way to make a one time or recurring gift. You can designate your gift to Mountain Valley District - which helps us reach our goal!

Community Campaign

Our Community event invites businesses and others not involved with Units to contribute to Scouting. The event this year is at 7:00 AM, Wednesday, February 24th.  Do you know someone who we should invite? Can you be part of the team? Do you have a Scout who would like to give a 1 minute talk on the value of scouting (we need a Cub, Boy Scout, and Venture Scout)? Contact Julie Evans to join the team.

Help Mountain Valley District reach our target - $65,000 by April 30, 2016.
